China Anne McClain is a multi-hyphenate talent being an actress, singer and dancer, as well as a digital influencer who is best known for her starring roles in the Disney Channel original series A.N.T Farm, Disney’s Descendants TV & Film franchise, and now the CW’s newest hit superhero show Black Lightning which is going into it’s 4th season.
In addition to China’s 12MM+ social media following, she also shares a YouTube channel with her sister Lauryn.

China’s career began when she was seven years old starring in Tyler Perry’s Daddy’s Little Girls, alongside Idris Elba and her two sisters and Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. She co-starred in the film Grown Ups at twelve years old alongside Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, and David Spade, and then in the sequel, Grown Ups 2.
In 2011, Disney wrote and developed its hit TV series A.N.T. Farm specifically for China. The series aired through 2014.
Recently, China starred in the Disney Channel original movie Descendants 2, alongside Dove Cameron and Cameron Boyce. It was telecast on an unprecedented seven networks simultaneously and raked in an astounding 21 million viewers. It also broke social media records for Disney Channel making it the biggest social media campaign in the network’s history.

For China’s A.N.T. Farm TV series, she recorded a cover of Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite”. She also sang and co-wrote the series theme song, “Exceptional”. China’s first music video for “Dynamite” premiered on July 23, 2011, on Disney Channel to rave reviews. On September 28, 2011, she released her second single “Calling All The Monsters” which charted number 100 on the Hot Billboard 100 chart and received over 1 million views in its first 2 days online.
China’s most recent single from the Descendants 2 soundtrack, “What’s My Name” reached #38 on the Billboard charts and was certified Gold in the U.S.
CURRENT & UPCOMING PROJECTS
Currently, China stars as Jennifer Pierce, aka superhero Lightning, on the CW TV series Black Lightning, which follows a retired superhero who becomes a vigilante for justice. Black Lightning premiered as the strongest premiere for the CW in two years and currently sits at a 100% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. Recently, the show got an early renewal for season 4 expected to start airing in the fall of 2020.
China is currently working on an upcoming film project called Control with Adam Sandler, which she is also producing and is slated to be released in 2021 in the festival circuit.
China is also starring in Adam Sandler's upcoming Netflix Halloween comedy Hubie Halloween, alongside Julie Bowen, Kevin James, Maya Rudolph, Ray Liotta, Steve Buscemi, Rob Schneider, Michael Chiklis, and Shaquille O’Neal.
As busy as ever, China will also star in Tyler Perry’s House of Payne 2.0, which is a reboot of House of Payne planned for 2021.
Along with her acting career, China is also releasing new music in 2020.
