MARSAI MARTIN
Marsai Martin is a critically acclaimed actress, producer, and rising star well beyond her years.
Best known for her role as Diane Johnson in ABC’s hit sitcom Black-ish, Marsai now heads her own production company, Genius Productions, and became the youngest person to ink a first-look deal with Universal Studios.
She has earned five NAACP Image Awards, a Young Artist Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination, and a place on Time magazine’s 100 Next list.
CAREER
Marsai first broke onto the scene as Diane Johnson on ABC’s critically acclaimed and Emmy-nominated hit comedy series Black-ish alongside Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Laurence Fishburne.
She went on to star in Amazon’s An American Girl Story: Melody 1962 – Love Has To Win, How To Die Happy with Meagan Good, and Fun Mom Dinner with Adam Scott, Katie Aselton, Toni Collette, and Adam Levine.
She recently executive produced and starred in Universal’s Little alongside Issa Rae and Regina Hall. This made her the youngest person to ever executive produce a studio film.
COMING UP
Marsai’s first film as part of the first-look deal with Universal will be StepMonster, a comedy about a teenage girl, played by Marsai, who is adjusting to life with a new stepmother. Marsai is also slated to star as Susie Carmichael in Universal’s reboot of Rugrats alongside Christina Aguilera and Tisha Campbell-Martin and to both produce and star in upcoming film Amari and the Night Brothers. She will also produce the comedy film Queen, currently in development.
